Every line here comes from the manufacturer’s own specification. Where they state nothing, the column is left empty and the product page says so rather than guessing.
Do I need an amplifier or speakers as well?
It depends on the model, and it is the first thing worth settling. A turntable on its own makes almost no sound.
Two of ours are supplied with their own speakers — the S20 and the A30. You plug them into the wall and play a record, nothing else to buy. The other three need either powered speakers or an amplifier. Every product page says which, in plain words, at the top.
Three questions to find outWhat else will I need to buy?
On the models with speakers, nothing. On the others, powered speakers from around £60, or an amplifier you may already own.
Beyond that: records, which run £20 to £30 new in the UK. We would rather you knew that before you order than after. Every page carries a list headed “not stated by the manufacturer” — if we do not know something, that is where it goes, instead of a guess.
Will one of these damage my records?
Playing a record always wears it, a little, every time. Nothing changes that — anyone who tells you otherwise is selling something.
What differs is how fast. The number that matters is tracking force: a moving-magnet cartridge presses at roughly 1.5 to 2.5 grams, a ceramic one at 5 to 7. We publish the cartridge type on every page where the maker states it, and we say so plainly when they do not. Setup matters as much as price, so it is worth checking the arm and the cartridge when a deck arrives.
Who are Ryyvo, and where are these made?
Ryyvo is a small online shop selling turntables to the United Kingdom, and we are not going to pretend to be an old hi-fi house. Our decks are made in Guangdong, by the factories named on each product page.
What we do that most sellers do not: publish the specification the factory actually gave us, and say so plainly where they gave us nothing. Every product page carries a list headed "not stated by the manufacturer", so you can see what is known and what is not before you buy.
How we workIt is a gift and I know nothing about records. What do I do?
You do not need to know anything about turntables. You need to know two things about the person: whether they have anything to play it through, and whether they already own records.
Tell us those two things and we will tell you which one to get — and if the cheaper one is the right answer, that is what we will say. Returns run to 30 days, so a gift bought in November is still returnable well after Christmas.
Buying for someone elseWhat happens if something goes wrong?
Your rights as a UK consumer apply to everything you buy here and nothing on our site reduces them. Damaged, faulty or not as described: we put it right.
Before that, two things get reported as faults far more often than they are one. A turntable plays roughly 6 to 8 dB quieter than a CD or a stream — that is normal, turn it up. And a low hum is almost always the earth wire or a switch in the wrong position. Both take a minute to check, and we would rather spend five minutes on an email than have you post a working deck back.
Warranty and supportWhen will it arrive, and what does delivery cost?
We deliver across the United Kingdom, and delivery is free on every order. The expected date for your address is shown at checkout before you pay — you will never be asked to guess.
Orders are dispatched within 1-2 working days and arrive within 5 to 12 working days in total. The packed weight of each turntable is on its product page, because a deck that travels with its own speakers arrives in a bigger box.
Delivery and returns05 — One last thing
